Who we are
Somos The TILT Project—la Iniciativa de Texas para Trabajo y Transformación. Somos un motor político y de políticas públicas con raíces en Houston, dirigido por personas que saben lo que es trabajar en empleos que te quiebran y vivir en barrios que la ciudad olvida.
Construimos presión política para los trabajadores/as de hospitalidad y limpieza, a quienes con demasiada frecuencia se excluye de las protecciones laborales y de los presupuestos de la ciudad. Aportamos experiencia vivida y pericia en políticas públicas para poner fin a prácticas explotadoras y conquistar estándares que hagan el trabajo—y la vida—más seguros y justos.
Nuestro enfoque: transparencia, cumplimiento, dignidad e inversión pública real. Luchamos por protecciones más fuertes, equidad salarial y de horarios, descansos y seguridad exigibles, y contratación municipal que premie a los buenos empleadores.

We’re The TILT Project—The Texas Initiative for Labor & Transformation. We’re a political and policy engine rooted in Houston, led by people who know what it’s like to work jobs that break you and live in neighborhoods the city forgets.
We build political pressure for hospitality and cleaning workers too often left out of labor protections and city budgets. We bring lived experience and policy skill to end exploitative practices and win standards that make work—and life—safer and fairer.
Our focus: transparency, enforcement, dignity, and real public investment. We fight for stronger protections, wage and scheduling fairness, enforceable rest and safety, and city contracting that rewards good employers.
